Swoop and Cross is the music alias of Ruben Vale, a Copenhagen-based Portuguese composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist.

Ruben started composing and recording in 2015 and has since released two solo records. The first, 'Stories of Disintegration', was released with Time Released Sound in 2018, and the second 'Les Fauves'  was out in 2022 with Piano and Coffee Records.

His music blends drone and classical musical elements. Ruben's music usually features piano melodies at the centre of heavily processed orchestral segments and evolving synth drones. Both his albums are usually described as cinematic, although the second ventures into a more experimental drone/noise territory, contrasting with his more gentle debut record.
